Know first who you are; and then adorn yourself accordingly (Euripides).
Today I’m going to talk about one of my favourite things … costume jewellery. To be more precise, I’m going to talk about brooches. I love brooches and, to be honest, I think they cop a bit of a bad rap, which is highly unfair I think.
Brooches are a great way to express your own unique personality. From their humble, functional beginnings they have risen through the ranks to be a unique, fun and useful piece of equipment in the fashion arsenal. Brooches can be quirky, cute, glamorous, modern, traditional, expressive, funky and just a bit nannerish (which I love).
The wonderful news is that brooches are experiencing a bit of a fashionable revival at the moment. The other wonderful news is that you can never have enough of them. Unlike other types of jewellery, which can be limited by the number of fingers or toes you have (for example), you can never have enough brooches! And it is good to have options so the bigger the collection the better…
Bye for now.
